Croatia’s construction-material price index: separate base and coverage

A construction-material price index is not a price tag for one project. The Croatian statistical office’s July release shows which comparisons the index supports and which parts of the market its method actually covers.

Keep three comparison bases apart

In July 2026, producer prices for construction materials on Croatia’s domestic market were 0.3% above June 2026, 4.3% above July 2025 and 33.1% above the 2021 average. Each rate therefore uses a different comparison base.1

Read the sample and weights too

For 2026, the construction-material index is based on 205 representative item prices from 22 selected activity classes. Its weighting structure was recalculated using results from the 2024 PRODCOM survey.1,2

Do not confuse producer and final prices

Reporting units submit monthly prices for construction materials sold or ordered on Croatia’s domestic market. Materials not sold domestically or not produced in Croatia are excluded, so the index does not represent an individual final price.2
