Place the survey scope in context

The DZS Household Budget Survey runs throughout 2026 and collects information on socioeconomic characteristics, personal-consumption expenditure, housing conditions and durable goods. DZS’s printed information names a randomly selected sample of 12,792 households.1,2

Assign the 14-day diary

Selected private households keep an expenditure diary for 14 days. It records daily spending such as food, drinks, tobacco, personal-hygiene and home-cleaning products, newspapers and magazines.1,2

Read interview data separately

According to DZS, the interview collects other household spending, including housing and utilities, clothing, transport, telecommunications and other goods and services. The diary and interview therefore represent different spending areas within one survey.1,2
